Just left Chesapeake City, having stayed a peaceful night at Chesapeake
Anchorage, away from the hoopla at the Chesapeake Inn. We entered (and
departed) at mid-tide with a 5'11" draft maintaining at least two feet under
the keel by favoring the West side of the entrance (50-75' from the
bulkhead). Apparently, the shoaling reported is on the West side of the
entrance.

BTW, I highly recommend Chesapeake Anchorage. The harbormaster, Marty, is a
very accommodating guy. He had the owner of the marina move his boat to
make room for us!

Meanwhile, the anchoring situation there was as crowded as ever, with the
largest of the boats at anchor dragging its anchor, while all passengers and
crew were drinking at Chesapeake Inn, barely missing two others before
hitting a third.
