You are close.  The John Day Lock at mile 215.6 on the Columbia has 
an official  lift of 110 feet -- the highest in the U.S.  Today, the 
tables look like the lift is only about 104 feet, and many references 
say the lift is 105 feet.  Tall, by any standard.
