I concluded years ago that most times carpeting on boats is not good. When
outdoors, the sun will deteriorate it,. it will gather dirt, remain wet
after a rain, and provide a surface that will potentially slip when you dont
want it to. Plain decks (either fiberglass or teak) are easier to maintain
and more reliable for footing and safety.
