Fred,
Kingston, NY, on the Hudson River is a pretty good stopover.  We left Morning
Star there in '07 at Rondoubt Marina and rented a car to get to the airport in
Newburgh.  Its a nice place for a bit of sightseeing while you have a car.
Roosevelt's, the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) and plenty of other
places.  I finally made it to Woodstock...40 years too late!
