 Shay,
Don't worry about the "gee that's too big" comments. Brenda and I handle
our 50' Marine Trader easily, and it has a very similar hull to the
Defever. We are 4'10" in draft and I love it. Shallower draft vessels
trying to dock in a cross wind are our entertainment. You will have no
problems, and the "awesome vessel " comment that was made is spot on.
Your side deck access and security is much like ours, and you will love
it.

I am considering a 49' Defever Pilothouse for my retirement boat and doing
the great loop. I would appreciate your thoughts on using 49' Defever
Pilothouse for the great loop. The boat has 4'6" draft, 15' beam, 17'
bridge clearance, 50,000 displacement with twin Lehman 135 enjoins.
