My Seward hot water heater toasted its heater element when the boat was
launched and the yard did not fill the water tank (previous boat.) So this
is not unique to electric instant tankless water heaters which can also be
seen at Lowe's and Home Debit.

West marine has a similar electric version (120volt), but some
friends steered us away. The heating coil will burn out if the tank runs dry
(which will happen sooner or later).
