Hi All--
We haven't posted anything on the list in quite
awhile, after living aboard for 14 yrs in both Michigan and the Keys, we sold
the OH WELL!, 
a couple years ago. We went from a 38' Holiday Mansion, to a
38' Holiday Rambler and now are doing the land yacht thing. 
I don't want to
get to long winded, but a few yrs back I stumbled upon a site you might find
helpful for both battery selection and maintenance.

We boondock, (anchor out), quite often
and have found that although this site was written by a RV guy, a lot of the
info on batteries works in both the RV and Marine world. Hope you find the
info as helpful as I have--
