Good thoughts.

I use a Sprint aircard with a cell phone repeater and can keep the internet up 90% of the time while cruising so I can always see the latest from weather underground on my laptop at the helm.

I've found that as long as I have internet access in the AM before 
departure, the marine section of Weather Underground (www.wunderground.com) 
was better to use than the VHF WX channels.
