A spray of soap and water kills bees and other insects on contact. About
the same concentration as used in washing dishes works fine.
Any convenient sprayer that can put out a good volume works. For small
jobs, the kind window spray comes in are OK, but if dealing with a nest,
something more industrial would be prudent. Drenching with a bucket can
work, too, but be sure not to miss or only get half the nest :(
Also, working after dark will ensure all the bees or wasps are home and not
going to keep coming back.
