GL: KVH TracVision M1 Sat system user feedback

We are considering purchasing a KVH TracVision M1 Sat system for Direct TV
on board while dockside or at anchor in New England.

Since the M1 has a 12.5" antenna (the previous models M2/M3 has a 14.5"
antenna) I wanted to check in to see if anyone owns an M1 or has experience
with this model and if so what your thoughts are?
