GL: Discharge in the Hudson

At least ya can't SEE the PCBs and the sewage in the river. What I find
especially lovely are what is known as "swans". No, not the duck-like
birds but rather white plastic trash bags tied at the top, floating in the
canal. They are often filled with dirty diapers.

While government is trying very hard to keep the waters clean, the people
haven't learned a thing.

Next time you all stop by the library, see if they have a dusty copy of
Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring". Or if you prefer science fiction, read
John Brunner's "Stand on Zanzibar" and "The Sheep Look Up".

All 3 are excellent books, were best sellers in their day, and apparently
nobody actually read them.

After everyone reads them, they won't complain about the difficulty of
removing thru-hull hoses from their sewage tanks.
