When we did the loop in 2007, we removed the piece of hose I could reach
from the macerator to the vented loop. The macerator is not wired in, and
the handle of the seacock was removed. We went up through Lake Champlain,
into Quebec and Ontario, and all the way to Michigan. The Great Lakes are
also a no-discharge zone. We were never stopped or checked. Well, once in
Florida by the potti patrol dye squad, but that was a different trip. We've
never had a problem getting pumped out, and never needed to pump overboard.
We had a wonderful cruise. If you think Canadian the potti rules are bad,
you have bigger shocks coming. How about $38 for a flat of 24 beer cans?
Or $42 for a 5-litre box of wine? Or $6.00/pound chicken? "Free" health
care is *not* free!!! Pumping out will *not* be a problem, and in most
places in Canada, as I recall, it was free.
