Elaine,
A "look-keeper" is how ya spell it when your fingers are frozen solid after
picking at the ice-jam between your toes! In the summer time we spell it
lock-keeper.
Oh and the locals here pronounce "Fort Edward" as "Fordedderd", no clue how
ya would spell that one. I think that pronunciation is due to having
frozen lips 8 months of the year!

A "look keeper" is either someone who looks at the temp all day wondering
if
it will ever warm up or Fred has a type O and it is a LOCK keeper. I bet it
is the first. I would be looking at the temp from indoors for sure! With a
fire blazing in the fire place!!
