GL: Another less travelled loop

Another great summer cruise is what we called our trial before starting the 
Great Loop. It is a not too small mini-loop from the New Orleans area (Lake 
Ponchartrain) over to Mobile, up the Tenn/Tom, turn right on the Tennessee 
River, go at least to Chatanooga, then turn around and go downriver to the 
Land between the Lakes, on to the Ohio, out to the Mississippi River and 
down to Memphis, Greenville, Ms, Vicksburg, Ms, Natchez, Ms, Baton Rouge, 
La, and finally through the Industrial Canal in New Orleans back into Lake 
Ponchartrain. About 2,200 miles... I don't remember if it was statue miles, 
or nautical miles. Lots of fun. Do the Lower Mississippi in August or 
September when it is usually calm. The big barges are not a real problem 
because the river is so big. Fuel is available, but you have to plan it.
