Getting ready to do the Eastern portion of the Great Loop from Warwick, RI
to Lake Okee, FL, across the
Florida cut, and up the Gulf/West Coast to Mississippi River, beginning in
the first week of April (if all goes
well).

Dennis asks...

Is it your intention to go just to New Orleans or go up the Mississippi and
on the Great Loop cruise? There are a lot of reasons why you should go up
the Hudson and around the Great Lakes or through Canada's Heritage Canals
to get there at that time of year.

And, don't try to go up the Mississippi from New Orleans. Use the
Tom-Bigbee Waterway instead. to get to the Land Between the Lakes
(Tennessee-Alabama border area).

You will get a good handle on the logic of this when you have reviewed the
Guides and Skipper Bob books.

And, I suspect your hope of doing 60 miles per day is more than a little
optimistic. If you are in a hurry, take a plane!
