GL: Great-Loop planning

Richard,  I don't know if you are aware of this but almost all  cruisers do 
the Great Loop in a counterclockwise direction.  Unless you  have a particular 
reason for going in the opposite direction you might want to  re-consider your 
plan.  
Then you will take advantage of the current on Illinois, Mississippi and  
Tombigbee Rivers.
Also, the seasons seem more favorable - summer in Canada, Fall in Tennessee  
and winter in Florida. 
    But the number 1 reason for cruising in the same  direction as everyone 
else is you will enjoy the friendship of other  cruisers.  You make friends 
along the way and meet again and again as you  all travel in the same direction.
