Thank you , Jo, for your answer.
I forgot to say that I will buy a trawler in the US and register this boat
,like you did, through a Delaware Corporation.
So the problem is not for the boat but for the french people living on the
boat.I don't think it's possible to renew many times the 90 days tourist
visa.
I will be in Florida next week and very please to meet you if ,by chance , you
are also in Forida.
Best Regards
Jacques

The regulation, as I understand it, is that any foreign-flagged vessel has
to report to the Coast Guard every time they stop - not just at ports or
marinas, but at anchorage too. This is not only inconvenient, but sometimes
impossible. We are non-US citizens and registered our boat in the US through
a Delaware corporation so that the boat could be US flagged. So far we have
done all our boating on 90-day tourist visas.

What about the separate requirements for a cruising permit and the
requirement to report upon entry and departure from every darned port? I
really need to understand these requirements for a Swedish couple here in
my
marina who have registered their previously US boat in Sweden and will
proudly fly the Swedish flag. The boat won't be entering since it is
already
here!
