GL: Great Loop and immigration

Hi everybody,

I will be retired very soon and I expected to realize the great loop on a 
period of 2 years long. Because I am a French citizen, I am looking for the 
best way to stay 2 years in USA with my boat ,with the respect of the US 
immigration laws. Even if I get previously a Visa from the American Ambassy 
in France, I am not sure to get the autorization to stay in the USA for the 
same period from the immigration when I will enter in the USA.

Does anybody knows somebody in the same situation, I am looking for french 
citizens who already did or are doing the great loop to discuss with them 
the way they handle there situation regarding with US immigration .
