GL: potential water leakage

Sue:

Sounds like every other sea water cooling system I have ever seen, as
long as the water exit is into your exhaust low enough to not be
siphoned back into the engine. The vented loop helps, as I understand.

As long as you have a vented loop in any system that goes below your
waterline and then out, you should be OK. You said "venturi
tube." I guess that means vented loop.

A Venturi tube has a restriction (reduction in radius of the tube) in
it. Complicated device, used for technical stuff. What you want is
a vented loop.

I am sure one of our technical geniuses will simplify my answer. If
you have a reputable boat manufacturer, you probably need not
worry. That's the simple answer. Smacks of a hungry mechanic, too.
