GL: name removal

Using Easy Off is NOT an urban legend!!. I used plain old Easy Off Oven
cleaner to remove the painted on name from my boat. It takes a few seconds,
not  even minutes, no harm at all to the gel coat. The gelcoat will always
have a  slight "impression" of the removed name because it ages different
under
the  paint than it does in the sun. Another removal use is to remove
Penetrol if you  were unfortunate enough to have used it on fiberglass as the
directions on the  can suggest. Nothing else I have tried works at all, easy
off
does the  job.
