Has anyone had experience with The Captain software or any other you can
recommend?

I've had it with Nobeltec. They are no longer supporting the program VNS I
bought only a couple of years ago and want you to upgrade to their newest
version for $130 or more. Why do I need a new program---the rocks and rivers
haven't moved? T

They have about doubled the price of their charts from $250 to $399. (It takes
4 sets of charts to get from Florida to New York). The charts are created by
the government and paid for by taxpayer dollars---not Nobeltec. Now if find
out their latest chart set (#39) had a serious flaw in it and failed to show
some of the significant navigation data like depths and bridges in certain
areas.
