Hi Jerry,
A friend passed your email on to me. I am 69, retired, and the owner of a
Mainship 34T. I was wondering if I am too old to do the great loop and
thought "how about the minor loop" up the Hudson, the locks into Lake
Ontario out the St. Lawrence, and back to Boston where I live (at least
south of Boston).
30 years ago I did some of the great loop with my father and really enjoyed
it. But my working years did not allow time to do it all. From what I read
the great loop has become quite a challenge due to a lack of dredging but a
friend took his sailboat down there last fall.
I don't think age has a lot to do with it as long as you have the energy and
the brain still works most days.
Hope to hear from you,
