As someone has said,"just do it"
My wife pushed me to get started and we are glade we did.
In just doing it, do not, this is our opinion, attempt it in one year. You
are retired, take your time it takes FOUR YEARS to do the trip. Absolutely
no way to see what there is to see in one year. It is logistically
impossible. Canadian reach alone requires two seasons. We have 4 and close
to 9,000 miles and are 2/3 of the way through.
Just our experience.
See you at church, later.
