GL: Elizabeth River Closing

For those of you traveling the ICW in the vicinity of Norfolk, VA, in early 
May:

The Elizabeth River will be closed to vessels for up to 72 hours next month 
near the Jordan Bridge while crews remove the bridge's lift span, the Coast 
Guard said Thursday.

The river will close at 5:30 a.m. May 3. Boats will not be permitted through 
the area without prior permission from the Coast Guard. The Jordan Bridge 
was closed in November 2008 because it is decaying. It is owned by the city 
of Chesapeake, VA, which is planning to build a replacement bridge.
