Hopefully things will get better!

There are several medical evacuation companies, including American Express,
whose fees are very reasonable.

I would have on board an AED, ambu bag with oxygen, and medications prescribed
by your physician for emergencies, and teach your spouse how to use them. I
might also consider a personal Epirb to be on your person at all times. All
of this of course presumes that you have the OK from your M.D. and are
controlled. I supposed you should try not to get caught in rough seas which
might be stressful, such as Nor'easters in the Chesapeake Bay!

I recently visited a friend who is a member of the Alpine Club in Arrowhead,
CO (the Vail area). I was inspired by the retired people (ages 65 to 86!)
there who climb, hike, ski, bike, weight life, etc., and who are in great
shape, many with stints, asthma, etc.

Ar our Cavalier Yacht Club, we have had many members yacht well into their
80's.
