Tom,

I keep a piece or two or three of alum flat bar stock on the boat always.
If you need just a small angel go to a steel or alum supply house and 
get a length of angle stock then no bending and it is stronger.

I have used the angle stock in a number of places on the boat, it is 
very effective.
