Far and away the best product I have found is PRISIM POLISH it is somewhat
pricy and is rather difficult to find. You can find it on the internet and
I think West Marine has it online but not in their stores. It works magic
on SS as it actually repassivates the Stainless, it restores isinglass to
like new condition and removes the cloudiness that comes with age (several
application are required if the isinglass in is badly weathered. It also
will remove serious marks and oxidation from both gelcoat and Imron paint.
This stuff is a soft paste substance and contains a combination of chemicals
and a very gentle & fine abrasive substance that does not scratch. It works
so well that I am amazed it isn't illegal.

We have quite a bit of stainless on our boat, so this is always of
importance, and we have tried a wide variety of products. The
aforementioned Barkeeper's Friend is good for a whole variety of
purposes, including this one, especially tough cases. However for
ongoing maintenance, we too have settled on Collinite Metal Wax (I
don't know if they have a "Polish", our stuff is a light milk
chocolate color). It's good for taking surface rust and tarnish off,
and since we started using it have far less rust build up and spend
much less time working on it. Our boat is a full time cruiser and
gets lots of exposure to salt spray. A professional detailer/yacht
maintenance guy in Miami who serviced a lot of nice looking boats
recommended the Collinite to us with that trade's ultimate accolade:
" hey man, I don't want to have to do any more work on this stuff
than I have to man, you know what mean?".
