GL: paint in the engine room

Hi Everybody,

I have two questions, but I'll start with this one.  The floor in the engine
room is showing some rust as well as significant lose of paint.  This is
especially true under the engine.  Does anybody have experience with the best
type of paint to use on these surfaces?  What needs to be done to the floor to
help the paint adhere better?
