GL: Satellite TV feeds

I'll pass on our experience. I changed zip codes once to a New Jersey area
that did not have local channels (could not get CBS, NBC, and ABC), so for
$5/month Direct TV allowed me to get National Feeds of these channels. I
picked New York feed but you could choose a big west coast city. There is no
geographic area limit to getting national feeds. If the area you are in has
the local majors then Direct TV will not give you the "national feeds." So,
if you only care about getting the national channels and are not concerned
that they are in you specific area, as you pass through, every time you
change the zip code ask if they will give you the national feeds. If they
do, you'll never have to call again to ensure you get the three major
channels. We've used national feeds for 3 years and found it ok. Weather
we get from NOAA.
Sincerely,
Phil and Carey Bolin
