GL: Mildew

The person who asked about mildew did not specify where the problem was, ie on
what surfaces. Luckily I never had the problem in either of my trawlers. I DID
have the problem here in the Mobile Bay area where I live, with both mildew
and soil on the SUNBRELLA cushions of my porch furniture. A decorator/friend
down the street told me to clean them using TILEX. Spray it on, scrub with a
brush and dry out in the sun. You don't SOAK the cushions, use only what's
necessary. It did a fabulous job! I was worried about the chlorine content
damaging the fabric, but her green/white cushions have not suffered at all
over more than 5 years! Look brand new! When through with the cushions, I used
the TILEX on my folding teak table and it too, looks great! I don't know how
those vinyl cushions would react, mine looked grubby after just 3 years no
matter what! I would replace them with SUNBRELLA ones which are much more
comfortable in hot weather anyway.
