I've purchased 3 chartplotters for boat on E-Bay and had good luck with all
purchases. However, I'd check Craigslist first, so you can deal locally with
the seller.

  Hello All,

I have never purchased anything from e-bay, but when I went to their web
site
to check pricing on the Garmin 76csx GPS I found that there was a huge
difference in price between a number of the usual vendors such as WM,
Defender, etc. My question to the list is this. Am I missing something
when
the difference in price is $170.00. E-bay seller says that the unit is
new,
and the listed specs, are exactly the same no matter which vendor I look
at.
Has any body had experience buying through e-bay, and what has been you
experience. Pretty hard to pass up this kind of savings, but as the saying
goes, "if is sounds to good to be true, it probably is".

Thanks to all in advance for your replies,

  Ken Tucknott
