GL: Fuel in the Keys

Greetings from Matecumbe Bight in the Key's,
 
After making some calls to try and get the best fuel price down here I was  
surprised to find diesel at $3.60 (FL tax inc.) at Caloosa Cove Marina.....yes, 
 $3.60 per gallon!!  They tell me that because they purchase 8,000 gallons  
at a time they always have the cheapest fuel in the area.  Caloosa Cove is  
located next to the Channel Two Bridge, Hawk Channel side, at m.m. 1160  on the 
Intracoastal Waterway.  The catch is that you must go in at  high tide which 
will leave you in 5' of water.  Life's2Short has a 4' draft  and we did just 
fine about an hour prior to high tide.  The dock master was  great and even took 
his golf cart up to get us ice (huge block & cube) from  the marina store & 
bait shop.  Even though I saw a water hose at the  fuel dock the guy told us 
there was no fresh water on the dock??  We could  not raise them on the VHF so we 
called them at 305-664-4455 and asked for the  fuel dock, which is conviently 
located in front of the huge boat  house.
 
Get it while you can!
