GL: Canal speeds

We were on the Erie Canal last summer and I seem to
recall that parts of the canalized Mohawk River had
speed limits of 40mph.  Of course, travelling on a
slow trawler, I didn't pay close attention to those
signs, nor to the 10mph signs either.
