Actually the speed limit is 10 MPH, not KNOTS. This works out to about
8.6
Kn. boat speed. Distances along the Canal and the Hudson River are
measured in
statute miles although currents in the Hudson are usually stated in
knots. This
is designed to exercise the mathematical facilities of the navigator. A
pocket calculator is a good help.
