Well said, Jim. Even the single green head can nail you.
Having lived near Atlantic City my entire life, I sum it up this way
(about the green heads) -
"they draw blood!".
They especially like to fly around your ankles or anywhere there is no
wind.
Best repellant is Avon "SKIN SO SOFT" so be sure you have it on board
before you get here!

Having traveled the east coast from FL to Montreal, I have found that
there
is no worst critter the the NJ Green Head Flies. They're hungry, they
bite,
they remove large hunks of flesh, they come in swarms, they love to
relax
under the bimini of your flybridge between meals.
If the shallowness of the southern NJICW doesn't convince you to stay
away,
the NJ Green Heads will.
