travel as much as  possible."

There are several places which Charter trawlers for short or long periods,  
with or without captain or instruction. I am familiar with some in the Ft  
Myers/Sanibel Florida area and there are many more in other parts of the  country. 
Just pick a spot you would enjoy seeing and "Google" charter trawler  for 
whatever place. They usually have ads in boating magazines.
