You might consider helping your wife understand these boats better, and the 
tradeoffs that go with them. Trawlers can offer very comfortable 
accommodations, yet provide a better traveling platform than a houseboat.
In most cases, you will choose to not travel in bad weather. You need to 
make this clear to your wife as well.
Has she actually BEEN IN any trawlers? My wife calls our Defever 41 a 
"floating apartment" that is as large as an apartment she had before we 
married.
