GL: great boat dog

So many Loopers travel with their beloved pets, and we were no exception. When
we did the Loop in 2002-03, we created a web page on which our dog Maggie
"rated" marinas for dogworthiness--the best being denoted as Four-Squirrel
Marinas. Because so many people ask about her, and marinas know her by name,
it is with great sorrow that we must report to Maggie's many friends that
Maggie passed away yesterday. Our hearts are heavy, but in our thoughts she is
on the bridge of Calyso Poet, anxiously awaiting the next marina so she can
hunt new squirrels.

For those who are still planning their Loop trip and wondering whether to take
their pets along, do it. You will never regret it, and you will have so many
wonderful memories to sustain you for years.
