GL: Lower Mississippi on a Sailboat

We've traveled up the Mississippi from Cairo to Lake Michigan twice in the 
spring and the pleasure boat facilities on the Mississippi are few ( as you 
know from the books).  The best site I can recommend for the lower 
Mississippi is Charles Culotta's website.  He did a circle from Lousiana up 
the Tenn-Tom. Tenn. Ohio Lower Mississippi and Atchafalaya River  into 
Morgan City, La. ( with a side trip to Tulsa Okla. on the Arkansas River).

Another site to check out os Coleen & Gary Barger's CAlypso Poet Logs. 
http://www.calypsopoet.net/cruisejournal.htm  They base out of teh Arkansas 
river and have done the lower Mississippi several times.
