GL: Erie Canal by canoe

Years ago we were in St Michaels MD and I met a fellow from Canada in a
canoe on his way to Key West.
Made sense to me since Key West has a nice accumulation of others who
similarly think that way.

Catch this NYT article on a folk singer traveling in the reverse  
direction along the Erie Canal by canoe. And some Loopers wonder if a  
42 foot boat is big enough.
