Bob:

You are going to love the Tennessee! It is one of the best cruising
rivers in the USA, maybe anywhere.

First off, try to get a copy of Fred Myers' book, "The Tennessee
River Cruise Guide." It is out of print, but there are copies here
and there. Worst case, borrow one from someone on this list (I am
using mine, or I would lend it to you).

You might also check out Bob Duthie's offerings. Go here for a look:
http://www.tnrivercruising.com/

You can find tons of information on the 'net. Just Google "Tennessee
River." And for some general fun, check out my logs for the days
between Sept 18th (day 153) and November 13th (Day 201)
here: http://tinyurl.com/399rkb. They chronicle our trip while
doing the Loop in 2005-2006.

Marinas are pretty plentiful on the TN, from Green Turtle Bay on
Kentucky and Barkley Lakes (very popular) to Volunteer Landing in
Knoxville. Marinas are cheap compared to most of the Loop, and fuel
is available, although not cheap. Anchorages are plentiful enough
and most are beautiful. Plan to spend some time in downtown
Chattanooga -- great spot for things to do and see.

Feel free to email me direct for any specifics or questions.

We will be cruising downstream on the Tennessee when you are
there. If you see us, give us a hail.

You are going to have FUN!
