>From the NYS Canal Corp about the Champlain Canal:

---

Mariners are
advised that the speed limit between Lock C-7 and
			Lock C-8, in Ft. Edward
has been reduced from 10 mph to 5 mph. This
			reduction in speed limit is
due to construction activity related to
			the Hudson River dredging
project.
Vessels transiting the area from either direction must proceed
with caution at 5 mph.

---

As this short section of canal includes my
own dock, that ought to solve my wake problem, at least temporarily! The
Canal Corp is making preparations for a major dredging project in this area,
and starting next spring there will be 25+ tugs a day pushing loaded barges
past my place. It's been suggested I open a bar on the end of my dock.
Should be quite interesting!
