Well, you can hire an lawyer but that's going to cost a bunch. And the
boatyard has the opportunity to attach a lien against your vessel in the mean
time. It won't take any time at all to run up a $3000 attorney's bill. I'd
sit on the money for a while, have a lawyer write the yard a strongly worded
letter. If that doesn't work, pay up and get out of there as quickly as
possible.
