Many of us have an electronic engine shut off as part of our engine room automatic fire system, perhapse what you mention or something similar could interface with that pre-existing system. Jon.

Several months ago we discussed the issue of a man overboard.
In this month's issue of Chesapeake Magazine, there is a brief article on page
31 for a transmitter that cuts off the engine if the captain falls overboard
or sets off an alarm if a passenger falls overboard. It looks like the unit
works only with outboard motors.
