If you can get to LaBelle FL at the western end of the Okachobee waterway, it is walking distance from the free dock to the courthouse. in 2006 we paid $57.00 for a Florida sticker for our 2001 Nordic tug 37 and they only asked to see our document. The Rialto marina is 7 star.Jojn on Valentine

Toby,
Yes, as Alan said, take the Document, sales tax receipts, property tax receipt
and copy of the Sojouner's Permit. Problem is that some tax offices are not
aware of the Sojouner's Permit. Your situation is exactly what I pointed out
to Capt. Richards. The state will not give you a registration because it is
against the state rules, since you are a legally Federally documented
vessel.

Legally you could be stopped at any time, and given a warning. Try and pick a
county which does not have the 50% more tax for their registration. I'll try
and find out which these are in the next few days. There does not appear to
be any table available currently.

Regards,

Bob Austin
