Vinny,
We have our dingy on the swim platform a good bit of the time and when it's there the hailing port is not visible but the vessel name is.

We have not been boarded but we were at a fuel dock today and there were two USCG 25 footers right behind us fueling and they never said a thing.

Henry

" EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT PLACING THE NAME AND HAILING PORT ON

THE BOTTOM OF THE DINGHY DOES NOT RELIEVE THEM OF THE

REQUIREMENTS TO HAVE THE HULL PROPERLY MARKED".

This says that if the hull is marked properly you have complied with the
requirements. Now on the bottom of the dink and not on the hull then you
haven't complied.

Has anyone been sighted with the hull marked properly and the dingy blocking
some or most of the hull markings? Not just hearse but someone that has
been sighted.

Here in NC the Coast Guard would be busy all day every day if they were to
enforce this as stringent as it is being stated here.

Anyone?

Vinny
