Speaking of enforcement.
I was boarded by the CG last season. The two who came on brd were very nice
and cordial and insisted that I resume cruising speed while the went thru
the litany.
My dingy was on Weaver Davits on the swim step thus FULLY BLOCKING THE NAME
OF THE VESSEL AND HAILING PORT.

(When THE WIFE read the forgoing she said to make it clear that she was in
the pilot house and not on the swim platform!!!!!!!!!)

The name and hailing port is painted on the bottom of the dingy. I have NO
state registration numbers.

******I was not cited for this nor was the subject even broached.*******

IMPORTANT the Coastie actually doing the inspection was in TRAINING and the
training officer was right beside him.

This is my EXPERIENCE. As always YMMV.
CCC
ps

As he asked the questions he typed the ans into a Blackberry and then
PRINTED all for me, I signed it and he gave me a copy. On returning to the
CG station all would be loaded into the main computer so that it remains of
record. Note again, no question about the blocked name and hailing port.
