Ken,
We have the Weaver Davit system on our boat and it works great;
keeps the dinghy secure to the swim platform for boarding and un-
boarding. They also have a Weaver Leaver that allows you to leave
the motor on the dinghy so you don't have to remove it every time and
can store it in the vertical position.
Keep in mind that whatever system you get, you can not block your
vessel name and hailing port on the transom (Documented boats) and
it is not legal to paint the name and port of call on the bottom of
the dinghy. The name and hailing port must be a minimum of 4 inches
in height and in contrasting color on some part of the vessel (on one
or both sides is OK) and be clearly visible. Note: if your boat is
state registered with letters and numbers on the bow, this
requirement does not apply.
