GL: Boat insurance

Rob,

My insurance is with BoatUS. It was $ 2,800/year including "coastal
waters" and was now changed to $ 1,400/year for "inland only".

The inland
area includes New York Harbor, which I will need to pass thru on my migration
north to the new house after the weather warms up.

The Great Lakes are not
included in the new area, but then again with the house moving, I won;t have
time this summer for that area anyway.

Considering I only make 3-4 trips a
year out to Ambrose Light (ocean) and have always been otherwise inland only,
I should have done this years ago.

Since I'm moving to a house on the Champlain
Canal soon, and I likely will
have no opportunity to cruise any great
distance this year, I called up the
insurance company.

They changed my
"cruising area" from "coastal waters and
inland lakes and rivers" and the new
description is now only "inland lakes
and
rivers" and the annual cost is
exactly one-half of what it was before.

If I
should get some time to
travel, I can get a temporary adder for coastal
waters, or great lakes, and
that costs about 10% of the annual premium for a
2
week time-span.

Cool
eh?
