Mary Anne,
Indian Key Pass works as advertised. It is the main channel into Everglades
City. You can run part way up and anchor in Russell Bay. Watch the current.
Its a good anchorage and the stars will be spectacular on a clear night.
Once in Everglades City, you can tie up at the venerable old Rod & Gun Club
(cash only, no credit cards!). Once again, watch the current. Wander the
town, visit the museum in the old laundry building and stop at Susie's for a
great piece of Key Lime pie. We have been sampling Key Lime pie all over and
Susie's is the benchmark by which we measure other pies. If you have never
been on an airboat before, this is your chance. There are fishing guides
which will show you a great day (or half-day) of fishing. If you are looking
for nightlife, you are in the wrong place.
